A helping Hand for greening volunteers

FOUR Hunter environment projects have received total funding of about $23, 700 under the Federal Government's Envirofund program.
The program aims to help community groups protect land, waterways, coasts, vegetation and species.

The projects are: Windeyers Creek bush regeneration at Raymond Terrace ($4054), improving bush habitat and biodiversity at Taylors Beach, Port Stephens ($7200), Ludwigia water plant control in Salamander Bay wetlands ($11, 216), and restoration of a Gloucester billabong and its surrounds ($1318).

Member for Paterson Bob Baldwin is encouraging community groups to apply to Envirofund for help in carrying out projects to restore and conserve their environment.
