Join our team in a range of propagation activities. Help us propagate a range of locally native plants to support projects within the Hunter. The role involves seed collection, native plant (and weed) identification, seed processing, cataloguing, and storage. You will also undertake seed propagation, plant care & maintenance, pest & disease management and Irrigation control.
Be a part of practical, hands-on positive environmental change! Maintain (and increase) your level of fitness and physical activity. Learn new skills. Formal training (First Aid, Chem Qual etc) is available to regular volunteers. Meet new people, share knowledge and a cuppa. Sometimes there’s cake.
On-site training is provided to volunteers by the Volunteer Coordinator (10+ years’ experience in bush regeneration and native plant propagation). Training includes WHS induction, plant identification, weed management, seed collection and propagation. Formal training may be available to regular volunteers.
4 – 12 hours per week. Tuesdays and Thursdays regular. Other weekdays ad hoc.
