Role Description

Do you have an hour to spare in your week (or fortnight) to share in our passion for improving the quality of life of the elderly? You'd be providing companionship and social interaction for an older person living in their own home within Newcastle and Lake Macquarie districts. Your empathy for the elderly, reliability, caring nature and listening skills are needed for this role. Up to date Flu vaccination and current National Criminal Check are required.

Benefits

Enjoy sharing the little things like a cuppa, sitting and chatting, going for a walk, playing scrabble, doing a puzzle or watching TV together. It's that generous happy feeling that comes from knowing you have brightened someone's day, not because you have to but because you want to. Make a significant contribution to our community.

Training

Training/induction provided as well as access to online dementia training. You'll receive ongoing support and supervision from the volunteer coordinator. The National Criminal Check is needed and will be organised and paid for by the organisation.
