About the role

Home Care Support volunteers provide a range of support services to our clients and their carers/families. Services include transporting clients to and from various appointments, assisting clients with everyday responsibilities, such as shopping and providing social support activities to clients. The role is to provide a safe, reliable and punctual service to enable our clients to access the community and reduce isolation in their everyday lives.

Benefits of the role

Aside from our long standing commitment to providing high quality care, we offer a welcoming environment, where you will have plenty of opportunities to build meaningful connections, as well as be provided with ongoing Training and Development, relevant to the duties, free Flu vaccinations, free counselling services via our Employee Assistance Program.

Training provided

On boarding and induction. Quarterly education and training sessions on items such as Safeguarding, WHS, Dementia awareness and organisational policies and procedures.

Service is across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie but may be outside these areas depending on client’s needs. We have a specific need on a Monday for 1.5 hours, but if volunteers are open to further services, we would be interested to discuss this also.
