Mobile Animal Handler (Qualified) (3561)

Assist our Team Leader in preparing by handling our animals for transportation in containers and monitoring them during transportation to and from the venue. This role includes supporting the presenter by handling animals during animal talks, returning animals to their enclosures and cleaning and decontaminating used containers. Volunteers need to be qualified in either Formal Education Qualifications or have experience in handling captive native animals.

Volunteering with our team offers you the chance to connect people with our native fauna whilst contributing to this valuable Hunter community asset.

Training in Animal transportation & Animal Talks procedures, including checking the Risk assessment that has been prepared before work commences on each new project/job to ensure the safety of staff, our display animals & the public during the scheduled activity.
