Homework/Learning Centre Tutor (3406)

Assist refugee & migrant school students to overcome educational disadvantage, by supporting their development of English, academic & social skills in one of our Homework/Learning Centres. Collaborate with other volunteers in small groups to assist primary students with fun learning activities: literacy, numeracy, speaking & listening, problem solving & co-ordination. Assist secondary students one-to-one or in small groups with tutoring: literacy, numeracy, homework, assessments, research skills

Supporting refugee/migrant students to achieve educational milestones at an equitable level with mainstream. Develop your teaching/tutoring skills & experience. Opportunities to include own teaching resources/activities. Collaborating with like-minded volunteers. Networking with schools/teachers.

Induction to organisation & volunteering. Orientation to the role, ESL resources and tips. Weekly support from Co-ordinator as required.
